Put together by hand and perfect for time trials or triathlons, Vel’s 85 RL Carbon Tubeless Disc Wheelset offers maximum stiffness and aerodynamics for when every second counts. Made using Toray 24/30T carbon, the rims have a 27.5mm external measurement which helps smooth airflow over the junction between the tyre and the rim, whilst the internal width of 20.3mm adds volume and stability to the tyre, supporting the sidewall and helping improve handling. As the rims come with tubeless tape already installed and tubeless valves, switching over to tubeless running is easy. This means that lower pressures can be used without fear of pinch punctures, providing better grip, more comfort and lower rolling resistance.

A 102 tooth engagement ring in the Vel RE freehub ensures a super-rapid response to any pedal pressure, giving instant acceleration out of corners. The hubs themselves are made from CNC machined AL6061 aluminium with sealed bearings for low friction and easy maintenance, 12mm thru-axles and Center Lock rotor compatibility. Straight pull Pillar Wing spokes laced in a two-cross pattern link the hubs and rims, giving an efficient, accurate and strong platform for pedalling, steering and braking.

Limited warranty

Vel wheels come with a two year limited warranty for manufacturing or material defects that would appear during normal use, with the exception of wear and tear parts. The warranty is extended to 3 years if registered within the first 3 months from purchase date.
