Tern's GSD S10 LR Electric Cargo Bike is a great option to consider if you're looking to swap the car for a more environmentally-friendly mode of transport. It's a highly capable, strong and sturdy build, with a maximum carrying weight of 200kg and an integrated rear rack that can be fitted with a whole range of accessories. Carry kids, shopping or other heavy cargo and benefit from the boost of a Bosch Cargo Line motor and Bosch Dual Battery system (one 400Wh battery included), which provides 400% assistance (up to a maximum speed of 15.5 mph / 25 km/h) and a range of up to 121 miles when using two batteries. As well as the three riding modes, there's also a walk assist mode to take the effort out of pushing the bike.

The bike is easy to handle, even when fully loaded, thanks to a lower centre of gravity and a step-thru frame design makes mounting and dismounting a breeze. Comfort while riding is enhanced by the suspension fork and seatpost, effectively soaking up bumps in the road, while the Andros stem can be dialled in for the rider. Passengers are made more comfortable by the addition of integrated lower decks and a rear wheel guard protects everyone on the bike from road spray and mud.

When not in use, the bike is easy to store, with a footprint similar to that of a traditional bike, and it can be folded down to just one third of its original dimensions. It's also possible to store in an upright position thanks to 'parking feet' on the back of the rack. An integrated Atlas lockstand stabilises the bike, making it easier to load and unload kids and cargo. The stand automatically locks into place and when it's time to roll again simply press the Remote Unlock lever.

Shimano Deore 1×10-speed components provide plenty of gears and shifting is reliable and smooth. A heavily loaded bike requires powerful brakes to aid safe stopping and Magura MT5 hydraulic discs with 180mm rotors do the job nicely on both dry and wet roads. The Tern Atlas wheels may be small at 20", but they're incredibly strong and roll smoothly on wide Schwalbe tyres.

A number of additional accessories are included. There's a full chainguard so you needn't roll your trouser leg up or worry about a long skirt getting caught up, and there's also a 700-lumen front light and RearStop brake light, enhancing safety as the sun drops.
