With versatility at its heart, the Cannondale Trail SE 2 Mountain Bike is unperturbed by any off-road terrain, to yield an energetic ride experience across winding tracks, steep inclines and rapid descents alike.
The vibrant attitude that is infused into this bike is largely donated by the SmartForm C2 alloy frame that is stiff and efficient while remaining light. These traits are joined seamlessly by the metered amount of cushioning supplied by the SAVE tuned, dropped seatstays that naturally bring increased trail adhesion. Partnering the frame is the RockShox 35 Silver R fork, and this lends its 120mm of travel to the ride to smooth riding surface irregularities and increase line precision.
The balanced geometry brings reactive but composed handling, and this is supplemented by the large circumference of the 29" wheels that seemingly ride through obstacles rather than bouncing over them. These wheels are allied by their broad, tubeless-ready tyres that increase traction across a multitude of surfaces and are robust.
Gear changes are courtesy of the SRAM SX Eagle configuration, and this flicks through its 12 sprockets with crispness to allow riding over any territory. Hydraulic disc brakes are easily actuated and are powerful while a dropper post adds extra control when it’s needed on technical descents.
